The Rules of the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission were amended on April 8th, 2026. Amendments were made to better align with changes to federal requirements, clarify where needed, improve consumer protection, and provide greater flexibility to Georgia structural pest control companies and pest management professionals.
The Structural Pest Division is providing resources to help pest management professionals understand these new requirements and is implementing a compliance period to allow time for everyone to familiarize themselves with the changes. During the compliance period, inspectors that observe practices in violation of an updated or amended rule will generally provide compliance assistance rather than issuing a violation, except in cases of egregious or willful noncompliance.
Structural pest control companies and pest management professionals are strongly encouraged to read the updated Rules of the Georgia SPCC and begin working towards compliance before the enforcement deadlines. After the enforcement deadlines, the new rules will be fully enforced.
