Georgia Grown Products Selected as Good Food Awards Finalists
Atlanta, GA - Eight Georgia Grown products have been named in a competitive pool of finalists for the 2019 Good Food Awards. With over 2,000 entries, The Good Food Foundation announced 401 industry-leading food and drink finalists from across 40 states, including eight from Georgia.
"I believe Georgia Grown companies produce the most flavorful, accessible and highly-regarded food and drink products in the nation," said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black. "It's no surprise Georgia was well represented in this year's group of finalists. We wish them the best in the final round of the competition- bring it on home!"
The finalists from Georgia include:
Green Hill Cheese, Sweet Grass Dairy in Thomasville
Honey Cinnamon Pecan Butter, Goodson Pecans in Leesburg
Ripple Effect Chocolate Bar, Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate in Atlanta
Vintage Gala Cider, Urban Tree in Atlanta
Ethiopia Kayon Mountain Coffee, PERC Coffee Roasters in Savannah
Raspberry Macadamia Nuts, JARDI Chocolates in Chamblee
Sumac Honey, Dancing with Bees in Cornelia
Sourwood Honey, MtnHoney in Clarkesville
"We are very pleased that our Georgia Grown products are being recognized nationally. It means so much to be in such esteemed company" said David Goodson, owner of Goodson Pecans.
The awards are open to U.S. based companies whose products fall within 16 categories and comply with all category specific standards. Winners will be announced Friday, January 11, 2019, at a gala in the historic San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center.
